Thanks to birding binoculars for bringing the following blog post

Spring has sprung in several locations in the United States and now is a time to get outside and enjoy the birds with your family. There are many springtime activities for you to enjoy outside this year, before the bugs come. This guide will help you plan some spring fun times for your family with bird watching activities for the little ones.

Outside when the trees are beginning to bud and the flowers are coming up we all know that spring has arrived. The birds become more plentiful and are a fun thing to watch. At almost every location around the United States, it is commonly known that when you see the first robin is officially spring.

A robin is a red-breasted bird, which grows fat eating the worms and other things he finds on the ground. If you have little ones the spring it would be fun to watch the robins in your yard, so sprinkle birdseed on your sidewalk, or driveway so that the little kids could watch the birds feed.

Of course, by spreading birdseed you will also get a host of other birds that are fun to watch as they go about their daily business. You can sprinkle the birdseed throughout your lawn, as the birds will find it anywhere.

If you are looking to create a backyard Bird oasis or sanctuary this can be done quite easily and cheaply depending on your budget. Bird seed can be spread on any flat surface are sprinkled on the ground were numerous other places for them.

Homeowners can also purchase feeders other birding supplies at their local department store, farm supply store, and most pet stores across the United States. Be sure to include a hummingbird feeder as well as different kinds of seeds so that your family can enjoy seeing a wide variety of birds in your backyard this spring.

Don't forget to include a birdbath, or a small swimming pool so that the birds may take a bath which is always a fun treat to watch. Wild birds are afraid of people so you want to keep the kids inside as you are feeding the birds but they can easily watch out the windows. It is also a good idea to keep the cats inside when you first put out the birds feed, as their natural predator, instincts will emerge.

This is a wonderful springtime activity for your families to enjoy this year. Feeding the birds is not primarily a spring activity as it can be done all year long. However spring time is a great time to feed the birds, because if you feed them you may get a nest in your yard and that means baby birds which only happen in the springtime.
